Nutritious Diet

You want to give your baby a nutritious diet so that he remains healthy. How do you ensure that he gets all of the essential vitamins and minerals, calcium and proteins? How can you provide your child with the balanced diet? What do you mean by Balanced Diet? A diet which is rich in all the nutrients for e.g. Vitamins, minerals, fats, proteins etc. is termed as a ’Balanced diet’.

It is important that a child’s diet should be both wealthy in quality and quantity. Baby needs a balanced diet for maintenance of his or her health and optimum growth. If his diet is deficient in nutrients and energy, it may adversely affects his weight gain and body growth. The child’s diet should supply him with adequate proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients in adequate quantities. Pulses and beans have high content of protein and a small amount of fat. Bread is rich in carbohydrates but poor in proteins. Lets see what diet you can bestow on your newly born. Breast milk is the ideal and most complete food for the baby. A mother should feed their infants till the time she has sufficient milk to satisfy his or her hunger.

But besides milk, you can also give the following eatables to your baby:- Mashed bananas Boiled and mashed apples Other seasonal fruits like mango, oranges. Dalia Rice Solution contains "Water, Sugar & Salt". This protects your infant from diarrhoea. And once your child becomes 5 to 6 months old, you can give your chid a balanced diet inform of Bread, Breakfast Cereals, Beans, Chapatis, Cheese, Dals, Maize, Milk, Potatos, Poultry, Rice etc. Considering a child’s small appetite, it is advisable that his food should be rich in nutritive value and that he should eat more often during the course of the day. You can mix various kinds of foods so that his requirements of nutrients are met.
